I have long legs so socks were 6 inches down from knee height and a little tight.

These do not come up over the knee, even when you are 5'8", and they don't wear well. I ordered in November, and here it is January and they have worn through on the heels AND toes.

The picture shows over the knee, but these only come up to just under the knee, which is a little disappointing. I am only 5'8", so it isn't my height that throws off the sizing. Haven't worn them in the cold yet, but they do seem well made. Shipping was rapid, no complaints there.
